We hope that you enjoy taking a peek into our classroom by viewing our pictures. We have been very busy since the beginning of school. We have been learning to listen with our whole body (eyes, ears, brain, heart, while keeping our body still and voice quiet) at carpet time. We have been singing songs about colors and learning to read big books together. We have been learning about the calendar and each day we count and add to the number of days we have been in school. We can't wait until we get to 100 so that we can have a class celebration. We have learned about zero the hero and many of us have a new favorite number. We started journals and do our best to tell a story using pictures and use our own form of writing. We love going to music on Monday and Wednesdays where Mrs. Powrie keeps us active with singing games and using instruments. Gym is also a favorite where we have been learning to work at stations using small apparatus as well as moving safely and finding our own space. We had our first library day on Tuesday and found out that Mrs. Gorman is a wonderful story teller! We went outside for our first fire drill practice. Our teachers were really proud of how we stayed calm, stayed in a line and listened for our names when we stood shoulder to shoulder. This week we talked about Terry Fox and found out that he practiced many of the virtues we are learning about.
